School
is out and two cousins dream of spending their vacation at a fishpond.
To get there, they decide to buy a used bicycle. Working hard at odd
jobs, they earn enough to buy it, only to give the money away to
someone who needs the money more. Fortunately, the bicycle’s owner
gives them another chance—but at a higher price. They have to
scheme to earn this money. In the end, a discarded
40 year-old bicycle connects the past to the present, becoming a
catalyst for healing old wounds and reviving a love

"Sockie Fernandez,
co-producer and director of the film made sure that while Gulong is an
independent film, the production value is not sacrificed and can
actually match big studio standards. [Co-producer Butch Jimenez(Jose Rizal)] and
Sockie assembled an award-winning production team for the film who are
both their friends, but more importantly
believed in the message of the
movie. The screenplay was written by Palanca awardee, Jeanne Lim, while
the cinematographer is Lee
Meily. Sound design
and engineering was handled by Mike
Idioma while
the score was crafted by Dan
and Geri Gil. Butch was also able to convince
his longtime friend, Gary
Valenciano to play a role in the movie, while another
friend, Christian
Bautista sang its theme song..."
Barbara
Perez "says she did not regret turning her back on
international stardom way back in 1962. While many local actors today
dream of making it in Hollywood but got nowhere despite their best
efforts, agents were knocking at her door to represent her in
Tinseltown. This, after she came out in the movie, No Man Is an Island,
with Jeffrey Hunter...."
